At Aegir, our Mathematics curriculum is committed to ensuring that mathematics is accessible, engaging, and meaningful for every young person. Our aim is to equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to thrive in the modern world.

To achieve this, we:

• Deliver a clear, progressive curriculum across three pathways, drawing on the structure and small-step progression of White Rose Maths to support coherence, consistency and depth of learning for pupils aged 11–19.
• Use the Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) approach alongside a wide range of manipulatives, visual representations and practical activities to deepen conceptual understanding and enable all pupils to make meaningful connections in mathematics.
• Support pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence, encouraging them to apply their knowledge in different contexts and to become secure, flexible thinkers.
• Provide rich opportunities for hands-on problem solving and real-life application, helping pupils recognise the purpose of mathematics in everyday life and preparing them for life beyond the classroom.
• Offer relevant accreditation pathways that match learners’ strengths, needs and future destinations, enabling success in further education, employment and adult life.
