At Aegir School, safeguarding is central to everything we do.

We are committed to ensuring that all students are safe, supported and protected from harm. Many of our pupils are vulnerable, and we work hard to create a calm, consistent and trusting environment where they feel secure and understood.

We have clear procedures in place to respond to any concerns promptly and appropriately, always acting in the best interests of the child. All staff are trained to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns, and we work closely with families and external agencies to provide the right support.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. It is about promoting the welfare of children and protecting them from harm. This includes:

• Protecting children from abuse and neglect
• Supporting their physical and mental health and development
• Ensuring they grow up in safe, stable and caring environments
• Taking action to enable all children to achieve the best possible outcomes
