Welcome to Aegir School

At Aegir, we believe that every learner has their own unique pathway through education. Our role is to understand each young person as an individual, remove barriers to learning, and support them to grow in confidence, independence and self-belief.

As Headteacher, I am proud to lead a dedicated and highly skilled staff team who are committed to ensuring that every pupil is known, valued and supported to succeed. We work with young people aged 11 to 19 with a range of learning needs, including autism and moderate to complex learning difficulties, and we take great care in tailoring our approach to meet each learner where they are.

These principles underpin everything we do, from the relationships we build, to the way we support learning, to how we prepare our students for life beyond school.

We offer a personalised and meaningful curriculum that supports not only academic development, but also communication, emotional wellbeing and independence. We place strong emphasis on relationships, consistency and creating an environment where pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

We work closely with families and the wider community to ensure that our students are well prepared for adulthood. Our aim is for every young person to leave Aegir with a strong sense of self, the ability to make choices, and the confidence to take their next steps.
