Key Stage 5 builds on earlier learning, with a clear emphasis on preparing students for life beyond school.

Students continue to follow their pathway and work towards appropriate accreditation, including qualifications such as ASDAN programmes (for example, Personal Development Programme or Transition Challenge), alongside other recognised awards suited to their individual needs.

There are regular opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom, including work experience placements, community visits and enterprise activities. These experiences support the development of independence and help students apply their skills in real-life situations.

All students access independent travel training (ITT) at the right level for them, supporting confidence and independence in everyday situations. Students are also supported to plan for their next steps, including further education, training or adult provision, helping to ensure a smooth transition from school.
