Careers education is an integral part of the curriculum here at Aegir. Preparation for Adulthood begins in Year 7 and develops through to Post 16 when the focus is Transition to Adulthood. This comprises a tailored mix of work-related learning, independence skills, health and community inclusion, delivered as appropriate to each individual student across our three pathways.

We work closely with our Careers and Enterprise Co-ordinator Melanie Papworth from the Careers and Enterprise Company which is part of Lincolnshire County Council. The Careers Lead also has strong links with the West Lindsey Skills Partnership, this enables us to access events and initiatives at a local level.

Through these partnerships we have regular access to high quality encounters with the world of work through webinars, virtual work experience and taster days such as county wide events at the Lincolnshire Showground. Regular group work experience takes place through the Community Café on Riseholme Road for KS4 and at Hall Farm, Messingham and the Premier Inn facility at InspireU for Post 16 learners. Individual work experience is arranged as appropriate, and all learners have opportunities to develop their skills through a wide range of internal work placements.
